- 1-2 pounds or more (450-900g) smoked brisket (leftovers work great)
- 6-12 buns or rolls
- 1 cup (240ml) BBQ sauce
- 1 large onion, sliced (raw or grilled)
- Baby greens or lettuce leaves
- Pickled jalapeños (store-bought or homemade)
- Cheese slices (cheddar, pepper jack, etc.)
- Spicy mayo
- 6 slices cooked bacon
- 1 avocado, pitted and sliced
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
Slice the slider buns horizontally. Optionally, lightly toast them on the grill or in a pan brushed with butter for added texture and flavor. Remove when they are getting golden and place them, open-faced, on a large tray or serving board.
Place baby greens or lettuce on the bottom of the buns. Then, top with a generous amount of chopped brisket, BBQ sauce, and grilled onion.
If using, add optional toppings like cheese, spicy mayo, crispy bacon, sliced avocado, or tomato slices.
For a cool presentation, secure each slider with a decorative toothpick.
- When filling the brisket sliders, be mindful of the portion size and toppings. You want to fill the sliders completely but not overfill them, making them messy for your guests to eat.
- Be sure to balance out the flavors and textures of the toppings. Aim for a combination of tangy, savory, crunchy, and fresh elements to create a well-balanced slider.
- Feel free to make a toppings bar for your guests. Add the basic elements to the sliders, then let your guests choose what extras they want to pile on top.
